KATHMANDU, Nov 1: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday issued an interim order, staying the government's decision to sack Dolindra Prasad Sharma, chairman and general manager of Sajha Prakashan.

A division bench of justices Deepak Raj Joshee and Prakash Raut issued the interim order staying the dismissal of Sharma, saying that the Ministry of Education (MoE) cannot sack him.
The MoE had sacked Sharma on September 24, holding him responsible for multiple irregularities at Sajha Prakashan. Sharma was accused of appointing those close to political leaders, government officials and media persons, not carrying out audit after he was appointed at Sajha, not maintaining records of annual incomes and book publications, allowing private publishers to use Sajha logo, transferring Rs 5 million from Sajha to GM's bank account, and GM also serving as chairman against the rules.
