CHITWAN, May 27: Ratnanagar Municipality in Chitwan has declared a summer vacation for schools due to extreme heat.
The municipality has decided to close all community and private schools within its jurisdiction for four days, citing the extreme heat and 'heat wave' that are affecting children's learning activities and health.
Vaccination campaign resumes in Tokha Municipality
Municipality Education Officer Narayan Prasad Wagle announced that all schools will be closed from May 27 to May 31. The decision was made at the municipal level on May 26.
Currently, the temperature in Chitwan has soared to 39 degrees Celsius, making life difficult for residents.
Vaccination Campaign Postponed
Ratnanagar Municipality has also suspended the IPV vaccination campaign due to the extreme heat.
Acting Chief Administrative Officer Narayan Prasad Wagle stated that the vaccination program, which was scheduled to run from May 26 to May 31 in community and private schools, as well as health institutions across all wards of the municipality, has been postponed due to the heat. The campaign will resume on June 2.
