Senior leaders call on President Bhandari

KATHMANDU, May 11: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed her happiness over the enthusiastic participation of political parties in local poll slated for May 14.

KATHMANDU, May 11: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed her happiness over the enthusiastic participation of political parties in local poll slated for May 14. 


During a meeting with senior leaders of major political parties at the President Office, Sheetal Niwas, today, President Bhandari further expressed her confidence on the successful completion of three tier of elections as per the constitutional provision as an consensus among the parties regarding local poll was praiseworthy.

According to President Bhandari's chief personal secretary Bheshraj Adhikari, President Bhandari also apprised the leaders about her Sri Lanka visit commencing from Friday. 


Party leaders had extended best wishes for the success of President's visit. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (UML) parliamentary party deputy leader Subas Nembang were present on the occasion. 


Likewise, Chairman of Nepal Loktantrik Party and Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Rastriya Janata Party leader Mahanta Thakur, Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav and Rastriya Prajatantra Party senior leader and former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand were present in the meeting.
