Seven die in bus accident at Bhimphedi (Update)

MAKWANPUR, Sept 22: One more person died in the bus accident in Jurikhet of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality of Makwanpur, taking the death toll to 7.


At around 3:30 in the afternoon, the accident occurred when the bus (Ba 3 B 7858) went out of control and fell down about 50 meters from the road.

District Police Office Makwanpur Chief (Superintendent of Police) Bamdev Gautam said that six people died on the spot and one person died on the way to the hospital for treatment. Gautam said that the identity of the deceased is yet to be revealed.


The bus coming from Kathmandu toward Hetauda met with an accident at the 11th turn of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-6 in Jurikhet. About 18 to 20 people reported are injured. “We have put them in three cars and sent them for treatment,” Gautam said, 'Other details are yet to come.” A lot of accidents happen on this road section.
