Seven killed, 19 injured in bus accident in Jitpur

JANAKPUR, Aug 24: At least seven people died when a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident in Churiyamai area of Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city-22 in Bara district.

JANAKPUR, Aug 24: At least seven people died when a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident in Churiyamai area of Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city-22 in Bara district.


It is said that the bus, which was on its way from Kathmandu to Loharpatti in Mahottari, met with an accident at around 1 o'clock on Wednesday night.

“Of the four women and three men who died in the accident, six were Indian nationals and one was a Nepali national,” said DSP Pradip Bahadur Chhetri at Area Police Office, Simara.


The bus carrying 27 passengers including the driver fell into the river 100 meters south of Churiyamai Temple. At least 19 people were injured in the accident. DSP Chhetri said that they are being treated at Churehill Hospital and Hetauda Hospital.
