POKHARA, July 12: Seven members of the same family have died in Pokhara after their house was swept away by a landslide.

POKHARA, July 12: Seven members of the same family have died in Pokhara after their house was swept away by a landslide.


According to Kaski Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basanta Kumar Sharma, the house of Kul Bahadur Pariyar of Purunchaur in Pokhara Metropolitan City- 19 was buried by a landslide at around 11AM.

Sharma said that Kul Bahadur Pariyar,46, Mankumari Pariyar,43, Laxmi Pariyar, 85, and Prasana Pariyar, 15, died when the house was swept away by the landslide triggered by incessant rainfall.


Spokesperson Sharma stated that Prabha Pariyar, 20, from Chitwan, who had come to her maternal home in Pokhara, her husband Pashmit Pariyar, 25, and another woman, Radhika Pariyar, 56, also died in the same landslide.


DSP Sharma informed Republica that two other people who were buried in landslides were rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment.
