DHADING, May 3: The sex composition of the candidates belong to different political parties who on Tuesday filed their nominations in Dhading district to contest the local polls slated for May 14 as mayoral candidate is lopsided.
Of all the candidates who are going to partake in the election fray at the local level as mayoral candidate, only one is female.
Pledges of three metro’s mayoral candidates
Three major parties Nepali Congress(NC), CPN-UML and Naya Shakti Party Nepal(NSPN) fielded male mayoral candidates. Only CPN (Maoist Center) fielded a woman as mayoral candidate.
She is Shova Dangol. Though her chance of being nominated for mayoral candidate seemed to be low in the beginning, the party she belongs to made a decision to pick her as mayoral candidate at the eleventh hour.
Dangol will be contesting the local polls from Nilkantha Municipality.
