SFCG Nepal announces peace video and photography contest

KATHMANDU, July 25: The Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Nepal has announced a nation-wide peace video and photography contest to mark the International Peace Day on Monday.


Issuing a press release today, the SFCG Nepal has said that the photos and videos on the theme ‘peace’ will be judged by a panel comprising celebrated film makers, photographers, media personalities and experts.

Two winners of the contest will get an internship with noted film maker Tsering Rhitar Sherpa, according to the SFCG Nepal.


“The nation-wide peace video and photo competition titled, ‘Peace on Earth’ is designed to echo the message of collaboration, trust and unity among people to pedestal peace in Nepal. We are looking for submissions that are creative, backed up with a strong story which establishes peace as the backbone of development,” reads the statement.


The SFCG Nepal will organize the special screenings of the five- minute video and a photo exhibition of the top 30 entries in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur.


The SFCG Nepal will organize the event in collaboration with Nepal Music Festival, Open Space Nepal, Onion Films, Artudio, blog partner – www.lexlimbu.com, Sparrow SMS, Chhaimale Resorts, Thames International College, and Nepal Tourism Board in Pokhara.


The deadline of the contest is the September 7th, 2016, and winners of the video and photography contest will be announced on September 21st, 2016.
