KARNALI, March 23: Yogendra Shahi has been appointed as the vice chairman of the Karnali Province Policy and Planning Commission.
Karnali Province Government Spokesperson and Internal Affairs and Law Minister Krishna Bahadur GC said that the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Rajkumar Sharma decided to appoint Shahi as the vice-chairman of the commission. He said that in the meeting on Wednesday, it was decided to appoint Bharat Kumar Sharma, a retired Joint Secretary of the Government of Nepal, as the Chief Administrative Advisor to the Chief Minister.

The meeting decided to recommend Dr Shalikram Pokhrel, deputy director working in Nepal Rastra Bank, as the senior economic advisor. In addition, the meeting approved the submission of the bill to amend the Karnali Province Sports Development Act, 2076 and the Bill to make arrangements for the establishment and operation of the Karnali Province Training Institute.
According to Spokesperson GC, the meeting also approved the "Food Rights and Sovereignty First Amendment Regulations of the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, 2079". It is said that the Council of Ministers meeting has recommended to the Government of Nepal to acquire 1.14 hectares of forest land for the construction of 18 km Ranighat Telpani road, which is being operated by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources.
