Siddhartha Bank launches EMV Chip Card

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Siddhartha Bank Ltd has upgraded its Debit, Credit and Prepaid Cards to EMV Chip Card. According to the bank, the bank, now onwards, shall be issuing EMV Chip Card on request of the new cards from the customers.

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Siddhartha Bank Ltd has upgraded its Debit, Credit and Prepaid Cards to EMV Chip Card. According to the bank, the bank, now onwards, shall be issuing EMV Chip Card on request of the new cards from the customers.

“The bank will gradually replace all its existing magnetic stripe Debit, Credit and Prepaid Cards with this EMV Chip Card in the near future,” it said,  adding: “The bank has always been extremely cautious on the security aspects during the electronic transactions from the Cards, and to further bring awareness among the customers, the bank has been regularly promoting precautions and safety measures to be followed while using the cards through different mediums.”


The bank expects that the introduction of EMV Chip Card will make the transactions safer and secured.
