SINDHULI, March 16: At least four persons were killed and eight others were injured when a jeep veered off the road at Karam Danda of Sindhuli’s Kamalamai Municipality-7 on Tuesday afternoon.
The ill-fated passenger jeep (Ba 17 Cha 1117), bound to Baskateri of Kamalamai-7 from Sindhuli Madi Bazar, fell some 40 meters off the road.

All four died on the spot, according to SP at Sindhuli District Police Office, Abhushan Timilisina. The deceased have been identified as Rudra Bahadur Thapa, 65, Rita Esmali, 18, Durga Shrestha, 19, and her two-year-old son Manish Shrestha of Kamalamai Municipality-7, Baskateri.
Similarly, the jeep driver Bhoj Bikram Thapa, 38, Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, 27, Shanti Maya Thing, 20, Kabita Shrestha, 22, Sunamaya Thing, 50, Sukamaya Pulami, 30, and her two-year-old son Reman Pulami and Binita Shrestha, 28 of Baskateri sustained injuries in the accident.
Three critically injured passengers Bhoj Bikram, Kabita, and Binita have been referred to Dhulikhel Hospital for further treatment. Other injured persons in the accident are undergoing treatment at Sindhuli District Hospital.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accident occurred as the jeep lost its control.
