Six held with 203.72 kg marijuana and Indian jeep

MAKWANPUR, Aug 2: Police on Thursday arrested six people with 203.72 kilograms of marijuana along with an Indian vehicle and made them public.

MAKWANPUR, Aug 2: Police on Thursday arrested six people with 203.72 kilograms of marijuana along with an Indian vehicle and made them public.


Police arrested two people along with 115 kilograms of marijuana concealed in a false buttom of Bolero Pick-up van, Na 3 Cha 4762, en route to Mahottari from Makwanpur at Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-11 on Thursday, informed Police Inspector Madhu Kumar Thapa, spokesperson of District Police Office, Makwanpur.


The arrested are Dinesh Magar, 36, of Kamalamai municipality-12 and Gyan Pudasaini, 31 of Bahrabise municipality of Sindhupalchowk.


Meanwhile, four people have been arrested with 88.72 kilograms of marijuana in Manahari rural municipality.

The arrested are Padam Hamal Thakuri, 58, of Tapli rural municipality-1, Suresh Kumar Mahato,35, of Dhangadhi municipality-3, Chhedi Das,44, of Aurahi rural municipality-2, and Krishna Bahadur Moktan, 42, of Raksirang rural municipality, Makwanpur.


According to SP Buddhi Raj Gurung, chief of District Police Office, Makwanpur, they were trafficking the narcotics concealed in a false bottom of the Indian Jeep, BR IP 2345.


SP Gurung said all the six arrested have been charged under Narcotic Drugs Act, 2033 BS.
