Six houses at high risk of landslides

BAITADI, August 20: Three families have been displaced while six houses in Patan Municipality-10 are at the risk of landslides.

BAITADI, August 20: Three families have been displaced while six houses in Patan Municipality-10 are at the risk of landslides. As there was heavy rain followed by a landslide on Wednesday, those houses are at high risk, according to the ward office.

Ward Chairperson Debendra Kuwar informed Republica that the houses of Hari Sarki, Amar Bahadur Chand, Ram Bahadur Chand, Gagan Bahadur Chand, Baldev Luhar and Indra Bahadur Kuwar of Badikhana Tol are at high risk of landslides.


The families of Hari Sarki, Ram Bahadur Chand and Amar Bahadur Chand who were at risk of landslides are now displaced. “They are now living in their neighbors’ houses,” said Chairperson Kuwar. The continuous rain has also damaged crops in other parts of the ward. The ward office stated that initiatives are being taken to manage the displaced families and the families at risk.
