State institutions have been left in limbo: Home Minister Lamichhane

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane has said that the previous government left the state institutions in a state of disrepair.

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane has said that the previous government left the state institutions in a state of disrepair.


Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said, "The mechanisms of the state have been weakened. Rather than following the law, the practice is to follow orders.”

Minister Lamichhane mentioned that in the past the state mechanisms were weakened. “This has given rise to many questions," he said.


Minister Lamichhane said that he is working on the systematic reform of the state structures and the creation of standards. “The people of Nepal have placed a lot of hope and trust in electing us. Our party will not belittle others or scratch wounds,” do the work of pulling each other and wounding," he said. 


Minister Lamichhane also said that the presence of parliament was not encouraging for those who came with a new political party, new hope and enthusiasm.


"We have not been able to make the debate of parliament issue-centered. We have the responsibility to debate that there has not been a debate on raising awareness,” he said, “We want this parliament to focus on the issues of the Nepali people. It is supposed to be a place for law-making.”
