KATHMANDU, July 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) abruptly suspended trading of securities on Sunday.

Nepse took the decision after brokerage firms requested it to suspend trading due to problem in their back office system to implement the new brokerage commission.

According to Nepse, brokerage firms have told Nepse that they were yet to complete the process for billing transactions according to the reduced commission.

Nepse has said that the trading will resume Monday. The government decided to reduce brokerage commission last Wednesday.
