Students unions demonstrate in front of PM residence

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Various students unions close to the opposition parties on Wednesday held demonstrations in front of the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar to protest the registration of the constitution amendment proposal in Parliament.

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Various students unions close to the opposition parties on Wednesday held demonstrations in front of the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar to protest the registration of the constitution amendment proposal in Parliament. 


They have also demanded that the proposal should be withdrawn, arguing that it would push the country toward division. They also shouted slogans like - 'Country should not be split, we do not accept the proposal', 'Expose anti-state conspiracy'.

The protest was attended by various students unions and youth wings of the political parties in the opposition including Youth Association Nepal (YAN), the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), the Nepal Revolutionary Students Union, Progressive Youth Association, All Nepal Youth Association and All Nepal National Free Students Union (Sixth). 


Addressing a corner meet after the protest, various the protesting students unions chairpersons including YAN Vice Chairman Ramesh Poudel and ANNFSU Vice Chairman Mahesh Bartaula demanded that the proposal should be taken back as 'it would split the country'. RSS
