Subcommittee to look into anomalies in medical sector formed

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Today's meeting of the Women, Children, Elderly Citizens and Social Welfare Committee under the Legislature-Parliament decided to form a subcommittee to carry out investigation into anomalies in the medical sector.

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Today's meeting of the Women, Children, Elderly Citizens and Social Welfare Committee under the Legislature-Parliament decided to form a subcommittee to carry out investigation into anomalies in the medical sector.



The decision follows anomalies being seen in admission and fees for medical study and violation committed of the standards of medical council among others.



The 15-member subcommittee comprising lawmakers Jiban Pariyar, Dr Banshidhar Mishra, Ratnadevi Gurung, Babita Moktan and Anuradha Thapa Magar as members is asked to carry out investigation and present a report before the main committee within 15 days.



Meanwhile, Health Minister Gagan Thapa informed that the government was preparing to bring an act related to medical education in order to resolve problems seen in the medical sector. RSS
