BAJURA, April 2: Sudur-Paschim provincial government on Monday airlifted pregnant women needing emergency attention to Banke by chartering a plane.
Four-month pregnant Setu Lwar, 40, of Budhinanda municipality Bajura was airlifted to Kohalpur Medical College in Kohalpur chartering Sita Air plane in the initiation of Social Development Ministry according to public-health officer at the ministry Ramesh Kunwar.

Mother of four children Lwar was suffering from high blood pressure, liver ailment and other complications, according to the health officials. According to her husband Tule Lwar she was deprived of medication as the family is poor.
Social development minister of Sudur-Paschim province Krishna Prasad Subedi ordered the authorities concerned to airlift her after advice from doctors visiting Kolti of Bajura for health camp with specialist doctors. Doctors had said that she needed intensive care immediately. After helicopter was not available immediately in the district she was airlifted to Nepalgunj airport from Kolti.
Social Development Ministry of the province has allocated Rs 10 million for airlifting pregnant women and other individuals in need of emergency medical treatment from remote districts of the province. At least three patients have been airlifted including two patients from Bajura and one from Bajhang under the provincial government's initiation.
