Suspended Chief Justice Rana reading his statement before signing it

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: The recording of the supplementary statement of the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana is over. Now he is reading his statement prepared by the impeachment recommendation committee.

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: The recording of the supplementary statement of the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana is over. Now he is reading his statement prepared by the impeachment recommendation committee.


After completing the statement, Rana was supposed to sign it, but he said he would sign the statement only after reading it once. “It is time to sign his statement. That's why he is now reading his statement," the committee’s member Krishna Bhakta Pokharel told Republica.

Rana’s statement is about 174 pages long. At first, he made up his mind to sign without reading the statement, but he is going to read the entire statement before marking his signature on it. The committee also asked some supplementary questions to him on Friday morning. Earlier he was asked 43 questions. The committee started recording his statement from August 31.
