Suspension bridge along Annapurna trekking route

PARBAT, Oct 28: A suspension bridge has been constructed over the Samrong river in ward no. 11 of Annapurna rural municipality, Kaski. 


The bridge serves the Annapurna circuit trekking route and was constructed with the help of the Kaduri family of Hong Kong. In absence of the bridge, trekkers had to walk for almost an hour to cross the river.

The 287 meters long and 135 meters high bridge is now the longest and highest suspension bridge of Kaski district. 


Sir Micheal Kaduri and his spouse inaugurated the bridge on Saturday. The bridge was completed at the cost of around ten million rupees. 



The bridge is expected to benefit local residents of Jhinu, Chimrong, Samrong and Taulu villages of Ghandruk and the hundreds of trekkers heading to Annapurna Base Camp. The trekking route to ABC attracts up to one hundred thousand foreign trekkers every year. RSS
