Shuklagandaki Municipality ward 12 has developed a concept of park titled ‘Tamu Hill Park’ at Ranglibot situated in Phirphire, Tanahun. The reason is to promote the culture and tradition of Gurung community through tourism. And Gurungs are the major group of people living here.
TAAN to build tourism memorial park in Kavre
Design of the park has been developed and concerned authorities are working on DPR. According to the ward’s Chairperson, Manaraj Gurung the park will be developed into the place to reflect the culture, tradition, religion and religious importance of Gurung community. “This will be the place to learn about the history of the people and place for new generation,” he added. And the materials that are used in Gurung’s rituals will also be exhibited in the park.
Moreover, Phirphire is famous for Millennium cave, rural lifestyle, and traditional houses. There is a belief among locals that the park will help to promote rural tourism and Millennium Trek. An estimated budget of the park is around Rs 50,000,000. Gurung said that the ward cannot manage budget itself so the ward preparing a plan to get the budget from local bodies, local residents and NRN. Gurung believes that the park will help to explore the possibility of rural tourism in the district.
