‘Tarkariwali’ gets offer to work in a movie

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Nepal’s new Internet sensation Kusum Shrestha aka the ‘Tarkariwali’ has been offered a role in a movie. Popular Multimedia has offered Kusum, a simple village girl from Gorkha district, a role in its upcoming movie ‘Lamphu’.

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Nepal’s new Internet sensation Kusum Shrestha aka the ‘Tarkariwali’ has been offered a role in a movie. Popular Multimedia has offered Kusum, a simple village girl from Gorkha district, a role in its upcoming movie ‘Lamphu’.

 


“We have offered her a role in Lamphu. She is interested and has said that she will discuss the issue with her parents and let us know,” Gopal Chandra Lamichhane, the director of the movie, told Republica Online.

Talking to Republica Online, Kusum confirmed that she has been offered a role in the movie and that she is interested in it. “I have been offered a role in the movie. I will think about it properly before taking a final decision,” she said.

 


Lamichhane has already directed Nepali movies such as ‘Kina Lagchha Maya’, ‘Boksi’, ‘The Mirror’ and ‘Oh My Man’.  

 


Kusum has set a million hearts a-flutter after a picture of hers went viral online.



 Rupchandra Maharjan, an employee of a company that organizes rafting in the Trishuli River had taken Kusum’s photo while she was crossing the suspension bridge, carrying a basket full of tomatoes on her head.



Maharjan had posted the photo on his Facebook wall on October 28. Since then, the photo has been viewed and shared by millions of people.
