The April 2015 earthquake had badly damaged the school, rendering the classrooms, science lab and other facilities unfit for learning.

During the handover program, Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri reportedly talked about how the friendship between Nepal and India dates back to the ancient times and the mutual respect both the countries have for each other. He further said that India is ever ready to support Nepal on its economic drive, the statement added.

According to Sipradi Trading, the newly reconstructed school building has 12 classrooms, gender and disabled-friendly toilets, computer lab and other amenities. The building is well-furnished and equipped, and is resistant to earthquakes and designed with disabled-friendly facilities.

Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata motors in Nepal, said that its social service wing - Sipradiyan Sahayata Sansthan - had started the “Nepal Earthquake Rehabilitation Initiative” in partnership with Tata Trust. Under this initiative, the organisations had decided to support the reconstruction of seven schools and a health post in Sindhupalchowk, which was the epicenter of May 12, 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
