KATHMANDU, June 18: Tata Trusts and Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha – a CSR wing of Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd – handed reconstructed building of Shree Kupkanya Secondary School to the local community.

The building, which was damaged in the 2015 earthquakes, was rebuilt under 'Nepal Earthquake Rehabilitation Initiative' by Tata Trust in partnership with Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha. Under the program, buildings of seven different schools affected by the earthquake were rebuilt.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, V R Mehta, a trustee at Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, opined that while tragic, the calamity had allowed the company to go beyond border for serving those in need, and expected quality results from the school.
Similarly, Dahal reflected on the age-old relationship between Nepal and India, mentioning India's support in Nepal's economic drive.
The school, located in Sindhupalchowk district, was reconstructed in 18 months with modern layout resistant to earthquake, and has been designed with disabled-friendly facilities, according to a statement issued on Monday. "The school now features gender and disabled-friendly toilets. Similarly, it has introduced awareness activities for students and teachers about education, water, sanitation and hygiene," the company added in the statement.
Tata Trusts, in partnership with Sipradiyan Sahayatha Sansthan, has started Nepal Earthquake Rehabilitation Initiative under which it has decided to support the reconstruction of seven schools and a health post in Sindhupalchowk district.
