Tension flares in Biratnagar after dozer hits student

BIRATNAGAR, Feb 23: Tension has flared in Biratnagar after a dozer rammed a college student on Thursday.


The victim has been identified as Rupesh Yadav of Mahendra Morang Campus. Police had to open four rounds of fire to take the situation under control after the irate students took to the streets and set a fire to the dozer.

Secretary of the All Nepal National Free Students (ANNFSU) Osim Alam accused the police of using excessive force by entering the premises of the campus.


He said that they will not withdraw their protest until the government provides treatment to the injured.


Yadav, student of BBS 2nd Year of Mahendra Morang Campus, was injured by the dozer when he was coming out of the campus gate.


He is undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Biratnagar.
