TEHRATHUM, Jan 5: Work of the Laliguranas Municipality has come to a halt following a protest by its employees, hitting service seekers. 


Executive officer of the municipality Maniram Khatiwada said they had to resort to the agitation to protest abusive words hurled at the municipality employees by a group led by local resident Arjun Mabohang.

He said the group had barged into the office and hurled abusive words at the office employees for 'no apparent reason'. 


"The misbehaviour of Mabohang, who is the president of the Nepali Congress Laligurans Town Working Committee, is condemnable and the office remains closed until security of office employees is ensured," he said. 


On the other hand, the joint statement issued by NC town committee and Sanghiya Limbuwan Manch Nepal and Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Terhathum accused the municipality of distorting the issue. 


The three parties have demanded immediate resumption of the municipality office works. RSS
