KATHMANDU, June 17 : Thames International College is all set to host the Nepal Social Work Symposium 2024 on June 20-21. The two-day event, themed ‘Shared Future for Transformative Change,’ will bring together distinguished personalities to discuss human relationships and social work issues, aligning with the Global Agenda of Social Work and Social Development.


The symposium aims to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration among academics, civil society leaders, social workers, media personalities, and students. Issuing a statement on Monday, the Social Work Club of Thames International College said that the plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and artistic performances will provide a platform for interdisciplinary learning and exchange of ideas.

Pre-event workshops and exhibitions will engage students deeply, culminating in performances during the main event, added the statement.


This year’s symposium also features an art/photo exhibition, a book discussion with the author, and various art performances by different clubs. The event is open to high school and undergraduate students, particularly those studying social sciences, business, and technology.


According to the college, the symposium is expected to discuss complex issues like climate change, social disparity, and the economic crisis, offering pathways for transformative change and a shared future.
