KATHMANDU, May 29: The premiere of the raw reality show "The Challengers: Game of Himalayas" was held at the historic AMC Empire 25 in Times Square, New York.
The event kicked off with a powerful message advocating for climate change awareness, followed by documentary footage showcasing the vloggers' expedition to the base camp of Mt. Everest. Attendees included Nepal's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Lok Bahadur Thapa, diplomats, various officials, creators, public figures and fans.
According to a press statement issued by the organizer, the show is now available on Prime Video in the USA, with episodes priced at $1.99 each and the full season at $9.99. "The Challengers: Game of Himalayas" features 11 notable vloggers from the USA, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Colombia, and Nepal trekking to Everest's base camp to witness the magnificent Himalayan glaciers. Contestants compete both mentally and physically, showcasing their survival skills to earn cash prizes. The finalists with the highest earnings will race to the summit of Kalapatthar, vying for the title of "The Ultimate Challenger'' and a grand prize of $100,000.
Hosted by India's legendary TV and media personality Nikhil Chinapa, this unscripted show captures the breathtaking beauty of the Everest region in Nepal. With a combined social media following of over 40 million, the vloggers will play a significant role in raising awareness for the Himalayas and Nepal, said the organizer.
The red carpet premiere was co-hosted by The Great Nepali Diaspora, a non-profit community of global Nepali professionals with 50 chapters worldwide. Cast includes Ashish Bhatia (India), Biswas Rai (Nepal), Camera Wale Bhaiya (India), Juanes Velez (Colombia), Kraig Adams (USA), Llukmee (Thailand), Mr Steele FPV (USA), My Mate Nate (Thailand), Neesha Khaling (Nepal), Ridergirl Vishakha (India) and Wil Dasovich (Philippines).
