‘The Flight’: A drama against human trafficking

Story of  ‘The Flight’ starts with lead character’s inner confusion on whether to continue a family dealing or to work for dreams. The character is going through a struggle for his freedom with one of the powerful families in the community. Despite knowing the fact that his family business of selling Nepali females in an Indian brothel is wrong, he cannot get out from the village and continue it.


Latter an eagle enters in the drama. The bird signifies the changes our society has been through. Written and directed by French artist Alize Biannic, the drama is being staged at the Russian Culture Center, Kamalpokhari. Speaking about the story of the drama Biannic stated that the drama has tried portraying social issues.

“Economic lure has increased social deformity and we need changes in our social mindset and construction. The drama has tried to portray that,” informed Biannic. “The main theme of the drama is to bring social changes,” he added.


The drama is n presented by a collaboration between Solis Performing Arts and One World Theatre. It features 26 artists including Pashupati Rai, Bijaya Rai, Kiran Shrestha, Shristi Maharjan and Saroj Shrestha.
