KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Hotel Yak & Yeti has announced the commencement of the 3rd Yak & Yeti Tennis Tournament amidst a special function in the capital on Sunday. 


The event being organized from September 24 to September 30 commenced with great enthusiasm as tennis aficionados from major cities gathered for a splendid inauguration ceremony on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by Bikash Rana, accompanied by esteemed tennis player Lok Gurung from Pokhara and Yak & Yeti’s General Manager Monika Scheiblauer. A delightful Hi-Tea set the stage for an exciting day of tennis action and camaraderie.


The opening match of the tournament featured an exciting showdown between Bhagwan Koirala and Sashi Raj Panday.


The 3rd Yak & Yeti Tennis Tournament will see participation from 145 contestants competing across six event categories, including 35+ Singles/Doubles, 45+ Singles/Doubles, and 55+ Singles/Doubles. Among the participants, five international players have added a global dimension to this already thrilling competition. A total of 137 matches will be played in a knockout format, adhering to the lawn tennis rules and regulations set forth by the Nepal Tennis Association (NTA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
