Janak Bartaula, a Bagmati Province member of the CPN (Maoist Center) and the Vice Chairman of the All Nepal Sports Federation, was attacked near Eyeplex Mall in New Baneshwar on November 8.

Police investigations reveal that the attackers had been monitoring Bartaula's residence, office, and gym for three months as part of their plan to carry out the assault. On the day of the incident, Sher Bahadur attacked Bertaula with a Khukuri from behind.

After the attack, the attackers changed their clothes at a residence and headed to the new bus park. From there, Tek Bahadur arranged their transportation to Ilam via Jhapa.

While the police have not disclosed the mastermind behind the attack, they assert that the plan was made in a hotel in Kathmandu. Police said that only three individuals know about the details.

All three arrested individuals have prior convictions in cases related to theft, robbery, use of weapons, and murder charges. The Kathmandu District Court has granted a 10-day detention period for further investigation into the attempted murder case.
