Three die in separate accidents

Tanahun, March 11: Two persons were killed when a tractor skidded off the road and fell some 150 meters at Korikha of Bandipur rural municipality-5 in Tanahun district today morning, said the police.


The dead have been identified as the tractor driver Prem Kumal of Palungtar municipality in Gorkha district and his helper Raj Kumar Pariyar of Bandipur rural municipality. The vehicle (Ga 1 Ta 4808) was headed to Yampa from Bandipur rural municipality, said the police.

Meanwhile, in Nawalparasi, a pedestrian was killed when a Bolero jeep hit him near Janak Secondary School on the East-West highway at Gaindakot municipality-7 at 2.45 am today.


Police have identified the victim as 35-year-old Gyan Bahadur Kunwar of Palungtar municipality-10, Gorkha district. Seriously injured due to the jeep-hit, Kunwar breathed his last at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur in course of treatment.


The jeep (Na3 Cha2261), carrying vegetables, was going towards Butwal from Chitwan when it knocked down Kunwar. The jeep has been impounded and its driver Chandra Bahadur Chepang of Benighat rural municipality has been arrested for necessary action, police said.
