Three killed, one injured in motorcycle accident in Siraha

JANAKPURDHAM, Nov 23: Three youths died while one other was seriously injured when two motorcycles collided head on along the Postal Highway in Siraha.


The deceased are 27-year-old Dinesh Kumar Yadav, 32-year-old Ram Briksha Yadav and 19-year-old Mukesh Kumar Singh of Arnama Rural Municipality-5 in Siraha.

According to DSP Rabindra Raj Pandey, Spokesperson of District Police Office Siraha, at around 7:15 PM on Wednesday evening, a motorcycle (Sa 2 Pa 4531) coming from east to west and a motorcycle (Province 2-01-001 Pa 1850) going in the opposite direction collided with each other in Siraha municipality-19, Sanhaitha Naya Chowk.


DSP Pandey said that when they were taken to the provincial hospital in Siraha for treatment, the doctors declared the three people dead around 7:30 PM.


A local 15-year-old Yuvraj Kumar Yadav, who was riding a motorcycle, was seriously injured. He was referred to Biratnagar for further treatment at night.


According to police, the drivers of both the motorcycles were not wearing helmets. The police said that the accident occurred when the motorcycle was driven at high speed without wearing a helmet.
