Three new ministers in Madhesh province govt take oath of office and secrecy

JANAKPURDHAM, May 23: The Madhesh province government has been expanded with the induction of three new ministers from the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Unified Socialist).


The province government is led by the Janata Samajbadi Party. The ministerial positions were lying vacant since the CPN-UML decided to to quit the government one and half months ago with the change in political equation in the national politics.

NC province parliamentary leader Krishna Yadav (Minister for Physical infrastructure and Development) and Birendra Prasad Singh (Minister for Health and Population) of Nepali Congress, and CPN (Unified Socialist) Parliamentary Party leader Gobinda Bahadur Neupane (Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives) were inducted in the government on the recommendation of Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav.


Province Chief Harishanker Mishra administered oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers amidst a special ceremony held at the Madhesh Bhawan. Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) has not taken any decision to join the government despite an agreement to give one ministerial berth to the party.
