KATHMANDU, April 4: Three new coronavirus cases confirmed in Nepal, the Ministry of Health and Population said today.


According to the ministry's latest Facebook update, the patients are 21-year-old male of Kailali who returned from Mumbai in India and 41-year-old male of Kanchanpur who returned from the Indian state of Uttarakhand bordering Nepal.

Likewise, a 34-year-old woman of Kailali district has also been infected by the deadly virus. She is said to be a relative of one of the earlier COVID-19 patients from Kailali. "With this, Nepal has witnessed its first locally transmitted case of novel coronavirus," the ministry added on its update.
