Three teams deployed in Kathmandu to uncover illegally concealed sugar

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Under the guidance of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a coordinated effort has been initiated in Kathmandu to locate sugar that may have been illegally concealed within the valley.

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Under the guidance of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a coordinated effort has been initiated in Kathmandu to locate sugar that may have been illegally concealed within the valley.


As per information provided by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a dedicated team has been formed, comprising officials from the District Administration Office, Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, Department of Commerce and Supply Management, and the Internal Revenue Department, drawn from all three districts involved.

During a recent meeting, an official involved in the initiative revealed, "Three teams have been dispatched to conduct searches for hidden sugar within the valley."


This move follows discussions held not long ago at the Prime Minister's Office, where high-ranking officials from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department met to deliberate on sugar monitoring.


As a result of the meeting involving all three security agencies, the decision was reached to utilize all available resources and mechanisms to uncover sugar that may have been concealed in Kathmandu.
