According to the police, a girl of around 1-2 years of age was reclaimed from Kheste of Thakre Rural Municipality along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading.

Santosh Sapkota, 27, a resident of Dharke of Dhunibeshi Municipality, Dhading was sighted walking on the street carrying the baby, by the locals who immediately informed the police about it, prompting police action, Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Sim GC said. The girl will be handed to her family, he said.

Previously, Sapkota allegedly approached girl's parents, who are earning their living through scraps collecting, with the promise to take care of the baby girl in their absence, and left along with the baby girl shortly.
