Top Bahadur Rayamajhi emails Parliament Secretariat, claiming he is ill

KATHMANDU, May 10: Suspended CPN-UML secretary and former deputy prime minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who is on the fugitive list of the police, has sent an email to the parliament secretariat, claiming that he has taken ill.

KATHMANDU, May 10: Suspended CPN-UML secretary and former deputy prime minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who is on the fugitive list of the police, has sent an email to the parliament secretariat, claiming that he has taken ill.


According to the Parliament Secretariat, Rayamajhi sent an email to the Secretariat saying that he was ill.

The police issued an arrest warrant against Rayamajhi last Wednesday on the suspicion that he was involved in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees. However, Rayamajhi is on the run.


Earlier today, the CPN-UML suspended Rayamajhi from the post of party secretary.


General Secretary Shankar Pokharel issued a statement on Wednesday and said that Rayamajhi had been suspended as party secretary.


Rayamajhi’s son Sandeep has already been arrested in connection with the the scam.
