KATHMANDU, Feb 29: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Management Basanta Kumar Nembang has unveiled his 100-day work progress report on Saturday.
Organizing press meeting at the latter's office on the occasion of 100 days of his office, the minister shared the work progress report.
Addressing the press meet, Nembang informed that his office has improved the condition of 9500 roads within Kathmandu Valley as part of dust-free road campaign.
According to Minister Nembang, 27 kilometers of roads in Valley has been blacktopped during his 100 in office. The ministry has aimed at blacktopping additional 85 kilometers of roads within this fiscal year.

Furthermore, the minster informed that the Ministry of Transport is executing short and long-term measures to overcome traffic problems in various areas like Koteshwar, Gwarko, Satdobato, and Naakhu.
Extension of Koteshwar road is in progress along with roads in Manohara Corridor to use it as a diversion. The DPR for construction of fly-overs at Gwarko, Satdobato, and Naakhu Chowk is also in progress, according to him.
Likewise, the government is collaborating with the Japanese government to build an underpass and fly-over at Koteshwar and Jadibuti.
In this period, the ministry installed traffic lights in 17 different inter-sections in Kathmandu valley. Remaining six will be installed within this fiscal year.
Similarly, construction of side walks to facilitate pedestrians in areas of Balkumari, Satdobato, and Ekantakuna along Ring road is underway. The designs for overhead bridges in Balkhu, Sanepa, Maha Laxmisthan, and Baneshwor have already been prepared.
Likewise, the DPR for extension of Tinkune- Airport-Tilganga road section of Ring Road into 8 lanes has also been prepared.
Also, 18 kilometers of roads of Mid-Hill highway, construction of six bridges and 48 kilometers of Postal highway with the construction of 5 bridges have been blacktopped.
According to Minister Nembang, 26 kilometers of roads along Madan Bhandari highway have been blacktopped with the construction of 11 bridges.
With all this, the Ministry of Transportation under the leadership of Nembang has blacktopped 200 kilometers of roads, graveled 130 kilometers with the construction of 69 kilometers of new tracks.
