KATHMANDU, Nov 21: President Chandeshwor Shrestha of Nepal Bar Association said that the trend of middlemen in the judiciary will not end until the rights of the administrations of the Supreme Court are curtailed.
Addressing a program at the Supreme Court organized by Nepal Bar Association, President Shrestha said that the trend of middlemen will continue as long as the Chief Justice handles the responsibility of judiciary’s administration.
House meeting postponed to avoid tussle with judiciary
Stating that the chief justice still has the right to transfer judges from the Judicial Council, Shrestha said that the chief justice still holds the power to do whatever he wants in his favor. He said that the protests will continue unless Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana resigns from his post.
Furthermore, Shrestha warned the chief justice to resign voluntarily or else the protest will be held at the gates of political parties and parliament.
