KATHMANDU, March 28: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Sah (Balen) has expressed his solidarity with the protest of the loan shark victims. He also said that the demands of the victims should be addressed by the Council of Ministers as soon as possible.
He however said that the effort to set up camps in open air theaters for those who are protesting in Maitighar is suspicious. Mayor Sah remarks have come at a time when the KMC is being criticized for barring loan shark victims from entering the open air theater .

Mayor Sah has written on Facebook saying that the open air theater is not a prohibited area and will not be, “but the preparations made to keep those protesting at Maitighar by setting up camps at the open air theater are suspicious”.
Loan shark victims, who arrived in Kathmandu on Monday after walking for 12 days from Bardibas, were stopped by the city police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City when they tried to enter the open air theater . Then they spent the night under the open sky on the road.
Shah expressed his displeasure that the victims should be given a sense of justice within a few hours. “This movement is not for living on the streets of Maitighar, but for justice. It is not necessary to create an environment to fight for justice by setting up camps for months or years, but to give a sense of justice as soon as possible and in a few hours,” said Mayor Shah.
