TU instructs related campuses to conduct  deferred FSU elections within March 26

KATHMANDU, March 20: Tribhuvan University (TU) has instructed to conduct the deferred Free Students' Union (FSU) elections within March 26.

KATHMANDU, March 20: Tribhuvan University (TU) has instructed to conduct the deferred Free Students' Union (FSU) elections within March 26.


Prof Dharma Kanta Baskota, Vice-Chancellor of TU, has instructed all concerned campuses to conduct the FSU elections in the campuses, which were stopped before that, as the examination will be conducted from March 26. He has requested to proceed with the election process in the stalled campuses by mutual agreement.


"I request all the campuses, political parties, student organizations, local administrations to complete the postponed election process without considering the victory of the student union as the central point of view and maintaining mutual understanding as soon as possible before the examination that is going to be conducted from March 26, said Baskota in a statement issued by him.

He said that although polling had to be postponed in some campuses due to general disputes of student organizations, it was conducted peacefully in most of the campuses.


The FSU elections were held on Sunday after 14 years in the constituents and affiliated campuses of TU across the country. Election process has been stopped in 13 campuses out of 62 campuses.


In the valley, the election process has been blocked in Trichandra Canpus, RR Campus, Amrit Science Campus, Patan Multiple Campus, Nepal Karmash Campus and Bishwo Bhasa Campus.


Similarly, the election process of Pokhara's Prithvi Narayan Campus, Western Engineering Campus, Pokhara Multiple Campus, Pokhara Nursing Campus, Thakurram Multipurpose Campus Birgunj, Birendra Multiple Campus Chitwan, Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus Baglung and Siddhanath Science Campus, which have the largest number of students, has also been stopped.
