KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Police have arrested two people on the charge of illegal VoIP call bypass.
Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal said that among those arrested are Bishal Shah Kalwar, 37, of Parsa Sakhuwaprasouni Rural Municipality-5 and currently residing in Kaski Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-11 and Imran Ahmad Khan, 27, of Rupandehi Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality-4 and currently residing in Fulbari of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality-11.

According to him, based on the information that the international incoming call bypass was being conducted illegally, a joint team deployed from the Central Bureau of Investigation Lazimpat and the District Police Office Kaski arrested the two people while they were bypassing the calls in the room at Siddheshwar Marg, Pokhara Metropolitan City-11.
The police said that two sets of VoIP gateway 64 ports, one set of WiFi router, one set of UPS, 597 sets of Ncell SIM cards, one set of pen drive, and two sets of mobile phones were recovered from them.
Dhakal said that necessary investigation is being carried out by the police for offenses under the Telecommunications Act, 1997 against those arrested.
