KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Nepal Police has arrested two people on charge of their involvement in online sexual abuse.
Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Sameer Tamang and Suresh Tamang of Indrawati Municipality, Sindhupalchok, for sending a friend request from the Facebook account and subsequently sexually assaulting social media friends through online audio and video calls on the pretext of having a love relationship with a minor.
One arrested on charge of online sexual abuse in Kathmandu
CIB Spokesperson SP Pashupati Kumar Rai said that they were arrested for making the victim a friend on Facebook and giving her mental stress through video calls and publishing the victim's photo on social media by adding pornographic photos.
He said that both of them are being investigated following a five-day remand from District Court, Kathmandu. Police have initiated action against them under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 BS.
