Indian citizen arrested with illegal Indian currency in Nepal

MORANG, Sept 11: An Indian citizen has been arrested by the police from the southern gate of Biratnagar-16, under Nepal-India border area with banned Indian currency in Nepal.


Chandan Kumar Yadav, 32, of Khagdia Village Panchayat Mahesh Khunt in Bihar, India, was arrested with INR 1.50 million, according to the Morang Police Spokesperson DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal. He said that the banned Indian currency was found in Nepal with Yadav, who entered Nepal through India's Jogbani.

Stating that when Yadav, came to Nepal by foot, police checked his bag on suspicion, it was discovered that he had illegally brought INR 1.50 million, DSP Dahal said, " Yadav brought a large amount of Indian rupees illegally, including INR 500 notes, which are prohibited in Nepal.”


The police said that the team of the Area Police Office, Rani will hand over Yadav to the Revenue Investigation Office at Itahari for further necessary action.
