KATHMANDU, April 3: A child and a youth have been arrested with 318 ampoules of illegal drugs from Udayapur.


A team deployed from the District Police Office, Udayapur, arrested 23-year-old Sameer Magar and a 14-year-old boy of Triyuga Municipality-13, with three types of illegal drugs on Monday night.

The arrests were made as a part of the ongoing 'Mission Drugs Intercept (MDI)' aimed at eliminating drug trafficking in the region.


The arrests took place in Triyuga Municipality-4, with the suspects intercepted  while traveling in a Jeep from Siraha's Lahan towards Gaighat


During a routine check prompted by suspicion, the police discovered the drugs. District Police Office Information Officer DSP Harinandan Chaudhary, said that the seized substances include 106 ampoules each of diazepam, buprenorphine, and phenergan, totaling 318 ampoules.


DSP Chaudhary said that the district court granted a five-day extension to investigate both individuals involved.
