Two big development projects in to operation

DHANGADI, Dec 23: The Intensive Urban Development Project and Regional Urban Development Project have come into operation for the development and up-gradation of physical infrastructures including road and sewerage in Dhangadhi sub-metropolis.

DHANGADI, Dec 23: The Intensive Urban Development Project and Regional Urban Development Project have come into operation for the development and up-gradation of physical infrastructures including road and sewerage in Dhangadhi sub-metropolis. 


According to Dhangadhi-based Division Office of Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, the two-year Urban Development project is to construct and upgrade around 42-km road in different 19 places of the sub-metropolis. 


It was shared that a budget of Rs 1.5 billion was appropriated for the implementation of the project in the current fiscal year.

The survey and design related works of the project were carried out last year. "The works of almost all plans have already started", shared Division Chief Rabindra Bohora, adding, "The road construction has started in five phases". 


Under the project, the old bus stops in Dhangadhi will also be upgraded and new bus stops and herbal processing centre will be constructed in Fulbari of Dhandgadhi. 


The construction of landfill site has slao started for the management of solid waste collected in the sub-metropolis. 


Likewise, as part of the five-year Regional Urban Development Project to be implemented with the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) some 15 big and small roads of the sub-metropolis would be constructed and upgraded. 


Around a budget of Rs 3.19 billion was appropriated for this. RSS
