JAJARKOT, Aug 14: Two children have died and a third seriously injured after being bit by hornets in Bherimalika-7 of the district.
Rijan Pun, the five-year-old son of Niroj Pun and three-year-old Bhawana Pun, the daughter of Kalawati Pun of Khatigaon died of the hornet sting. They were bitten by the hornets near their home on Saturday when they had gone to chase away the monkeys destroying the maize crop. The two minors died while undergoing treatment today.

The two kids could not be taken to a health post as there was none nearby, and home treatment could not save them, according to Niroj Pun, the father of the boy who died in the incident. Locals believe the monkeys may have stirred the hornets hive.
Kalawati's seven-year-old daughter Kabita, who was seriously injured, has been taken to the district hospital for treatment. RSS
