KANCHANPUR, July 27: Two children have been found infected with measles in Shuklaphanta Municipality. Measles-rubella was detected in an eight-year-old and 22-month-old child in ward-11 of the municipality.

KANCHANPUR, July 27: Two children have been found infected with measles in Shuklaphanta Municipality. Measles-rubella was detected in an eight-year-old and 22-month-old child in ward-11 of the municipality.


Meanwhile, another 19 suspected patients have been found and they are being tested for measles.

The Ministry of Social Development of Sudurpaschim Province has mobilized human resources to carry out further study and tests in the area. Likewise, vaccination program will be conducted in areas where measles has been detected.


Hemraj Joshi, contact person for epidemic control at the Directorate of Health in Dipayal said that preparations are being made for a vaccination campaign to prevent measles from spreading further.


Last Thursday, Cholera had been diagnosed in two youths aged 23 and 26 years old in the same area.
