According to Inspector Dhan Bahadur Bohora of the APO, the children had gone for a picnic with their relatives.  They went to the river for bathing at around 3 pm and got drowned. Police said they have been searching for the disappeared children after being reported about the incident.

Earlier, two people had also drowned in the same river during Dashain. Ramesh Neupane, 21, and his nephew Mukunda Neupane, 20, had drowned in the river.  Even after searching for four days, police have failed to find any of the bodies.

With the increase in number of accidents, police have vigilant at the picnic spot.  “Although we have warned the public not to take bath in the river, people keep ignoring us.  This has, in turn, increased the number of accidents,” said Inspector Bohora.
